Environmental conditions appear favorable for further development of this system, and a tropical depression or storm is likely to form over the next couple of days as the low moves north across the NW Caribbean and into the SE Gulf of Mexico, where additional development is possible. Regardless of development, heavy rain and increasing winds and seas are expected across portions of the eastern Gulf of Mexico by the middle of this week.
