Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Showers and thunderstorms are beginning to show
signs of organization with a broad low pressure centered over
the NW Caribbean. Environmental conditions appear favorable for
further development of this system, and a tropical depression or
storm is likely to form over the next couple of days as the low
moves north across the NW Caribbean and into the SE Gulf of
Mexico, where additional development is possible. Regardless of
development, heavy rain and increasing winds and seas are
expected across portions of the eastern Gulf of Mexico by the
middle of this week. There is a high chance of tropical
formation within the next 48 hours. 

.TODAY...E winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less. Scattered showers
and isolated tstms. 
.TONIGHT...E winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 2 ft or less, building to
3 ft after midnight. Scattered showers and isolated tstms. 
.TUE...E winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft. Scattered tstms.

.SYNOPSIS...Low pressure, possibly a tropical cyclone, is 
forecast to move northward through the eastern Gulf of Mexico late
this week, which may bring increasing winds and seas to areas 
offshore Florida and N of the Bahamas.
