.SYNOPSIS...Ridging extends through the Gulf of Mexico as high
pressure strengthens in the northwestern Atlantic. Moderate to
fresh E to NE winds will prevail through early Wed in the
central and eastern Gulf, with moderate to locally fresh SE
winds occurring in the western basin. Thereafter, gentle to
moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are expected on Wed.
Looking ahead, a weak cold front will enter the northwestern
Gulf of Mexico Wed evening, and fresh to strong N to NW winds
will occur along and behind the front. The front will weaken and
dissipate over the central Gulf by early Thu. Building high
pressure over the south-central United States will lead to
moderate N to NE winds and slight to moderate seas across the
basin Thu through Sat.
