.SYNOPSIS...A cold front extending from western Cuba to inland
the Yucatan Peninsula will shift farther away from the basin and
into the northwestern Caribbean Sea through Fri. A Gale Warning
remains in effect for waters off Veracruz for the remainder of
the afternoon. Afterward, the winds off Veracruz will then be at
near gale-force through Fri afternoon before diminishing to
fresh speeds Sat. Seas peaking to 17 ft off Veracruz will
subside through Sat. A trough is expected to develop from the
frontal remnants over the west-central and SW Gulf on Fri and
linger through Sat night while weakening. Fresh to strong winds
are expected over the waters north of 22N and west of about 89W
Fri through Sat night. Low pressure is expected to form along
the trough on Sat near South Texas, then track generally NE
through Sun night before shifting east-southeast and weakening
through Sun night. A frontal boundary related to low will shift
southeastward to just southeast of the basin by late Tue.
Moderate to fresh north to northeast winds are expected some
distance behind the boundary as weak high pressure settles over
the NW Gulf.
