Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0830 UTC. ...TROPICAL WAVES... The axis of a tropical wave is near 27W from 20N southward moving westward at 5 to 10 kt. Any nearby convection is noted in the monsoon trough/ITCZ section below. The axis of a tropical wave is near 52W from 20N southward, and moving westward at 10 to 15 kt. Any nearby convection is noted in the monsoon trough/ITCZ section below. ...MONSOON TROUGH/ITCZ... The monsoon trough enters the Atlantic off the coast of Africa near 23N16W to 12N27W to 10N56W. Scattered moderate and isolated strong convection is noted from 04N to 14N between 24N and 51W. ...GULF OF MEXICO... A weak pressure pattern is producing gentle to locally moderate winds over the Gulf of Mexico. Seas are in the 1-3 ft range. For the forecast, a weak pressure gradient will maintain gentle winds and slight seas through the week. ...CARIBBEAN SEA... Gentle to moderate winds, and seas of 3-4 ft, prevail over the central Caribbean. Gentle to locally moderate winds, and seas of 2-3 ft, are over the eastern Caribbean. Gentle winds, and seas of 1-3 ft, are noted in the western Caribbean. For the forecast, moderate to locally fresh NE to E winds will pulse off the coast of Hispaniola through the week. Locally fresh E to NE winds are possible off the coast of Venezuela and Colombia starting today. Elsewhere, gentle to moderate winds and moderate seas will prevail. ...ATLANTIC OCEAN... Gentle to locally moderate winds are over the Atlantic discussion waters W of 52W, where seas are in the 3-5 ft range. Moderate to fresh winds, and seas of 5-7 ft, are over the waters between 40W and 50W. Gentle to moderate winds, and seas of 5-7 ft, are noted E of 40W.
