At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression
Thirteen-E was located near latitude 14.8 North, longitude 116.5
West. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 15 mph
(24 km/h), and this motion is expected to continue for the next
several days.
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
The depression is forecast to strengthen and will likely become a
tropical storm later today. The system is expected to be near
hurricane strength by the end of this weekend.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
