ZCZC MIATCDAT3 ALL TTAA00 KNHC DDHHMM REMNANTS OF HARVEY DISCUSSION NUMBER 15 NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL AL082011 1000 AM CDT MON AUG 22 2011 SURFACE OBSERVATIONS AND SATELLITE IMAGERY INDICATE THAT HARVEY HAS DISSIPATED OVER THE HIGH TERRAIN OF THE SIERRA MADRE MOUNTAINS. A LARGE PLUME OF LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE ASSOCIATED WITH THE REMNANTS OF HARVEY WILL SPREAD FARTHER INLAND OVER SOUTH-CENTRAL MEXICO DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO. THE MOISTURE...IN COMBINATION WITH LOCAL OROGRAPHIC EFFECTS...IS EXPECTED TO ENHANCE THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAINS OVER THIS REGION...WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING AND MUD SLIDES.
