THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON TROPICAL STORM TOMAS...LOCATED ABOUT 115 MILES NORTH-NORTHEAST OF GRAND TURK ISLAND. 1. A BROAD AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAS DEVELOPED ABOUT 1100 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF BERMUDA IN ASSOCIATION WITH A SURFACE TROUGH AND AN UPPER-LEVEL LOW. THIS SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE TOWARD THE NORTHWEST AND SOME SLOW DEVELOPMENT IS POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT DAY OR TWO BEFORE IT REACHES COOLER SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURES.
