THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON TROPICAL STORM JIMENA...LOCATED OVER THE GULF OF CALIFORNIA ABOUT 40 MILES NORTH-NORTHEAST OF SANTA ROSALIA MEXICO. 1. A BROAD LOW PRESSURE AREA LOCATED ABOUT 700 MILES SOUTH OF THE SOUTHERN TIP OF BAJA CALIFORNIA CONTINUES TO PRODUCE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BECOME MORE CONDUCIVE FOR DEVELOPMENT AS THE SYSTEM MOVES TO THE WEST-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 10 MPH.
