ZCZC MIATWOAT ALL TTAA00 KNHC DDHHMM Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 200 AM EDT Sun Sep 10 2023 For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico: Active Systems: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane Lee, located a few hundred miles northeast of the northern Leeward Islands, and on Tropical Storm Margot, located over the eastern tropical Atlantic. 1. Eastern Tropical Atlantic (AL97): A small area of low pressure, located a few hundred miles to the southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, is producing showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions appear to be marginally favorable for additional development as the system moves slowly westward over the eastern tropical Atlantic. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent. * Formation chance through 7 days...low...30 percent. 2. Eastern and Central Tropical Atlantic: A tropical wave is expected to move off the west coast of Africa during the next day or so. Environmental conditions appear conducive for some gradual development of this system during the latter part of this week as it moves westward to west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph over the eastern and central portions of the tropical Atlantic. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. * Formation chance through 7 days...low...30 percent.
