TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL 800 PM EDT THU SEP 18 2014 For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on recently downgraded Tropical Storm Edouard, located several hundred miles west-northwest of the western Azores. 1. A broad area of low pressure, associated with a tropical wave, is located just off of the west coast of Africa. Shower and thunderstorm activity is currently disorganized, and any development of this system should be slow to occur while it moves slowly west-northwestward to northwestward over the eastern tropical Atlantic during the next several days. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent. 2. A broad area of low pressure could form off of the east coast of Florida over the weekend.
