TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL 500 AM PDT TUE JUL 15 2014 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: 1. Shower activity associated with an area of low pressure located about 1400 miles east-southeast of the Big Island of Hawaii has changed little in organization during the past several hours. Environmental conditions appear to be conducive for some development, and this system could still become a tropical depression during the next couple of days. After that time, upper-level winds are forecast to become less favorable for development. This low is expected to move toward the west or west-northwest at 10 to 15 mph and move into the central Pacific Basin late on Wednesday. * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...50 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...60 percent.
