TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL 1100 AM PDT TUE JUL 15 2014 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: 1. Shower activity associated with an area of low pressure located about 1325 miles east-southeast of the Big Island of Hawaii has become less organized today. It appears that the environmental conditions have become a little less favorable for development today. This system, however, could still become a tropical depression during the next couple of days. After that time, upper-level winds are forecast to become unfavorable for development. This low is expected to move toward the west or west-northwest at 10 to 15 mph and move into the central Pacific Basin late on Wednesday. * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.
