A tropical wave located about 850 miles south of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula continues to produce disorganized showers and a few thunderstorms. Upper-level winds are expected to become more conducive for development by the middle of the week, and a tropical depression could form around that time while the disturbance moves westward farther away from the coast of Mexico. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.
